Blowing Hat - A Silly Poem

I sneezed so hard my hat flew off.
Then it blew away when I stopped to cough.

Now snow is accumulating on my hair,
Because my head is cold and bare.

I would chase my hat if only I knew,
Which way it traveled when it blew,

But the wind is swirling this way and that.
A perfect storm for losing a hat.

So I'll trudge home with a sniffling nose,
And my new white hat that grows as it snows.

Forktruck's Busy Day - A New Picture Book!

Out newest picture book was published today on Amazon. This rhyming picture book follows a forktruck as he completes his daily tasks. Kids seem to love trucks, tractors and all other types of vehicles. We noticed that there weren't any picture books about forktrucks. When our kids were little they loved watching the forktrucks when we went to the big hardware stores and they were thrilled when we found little forktruck toys.

We didn't have a forktruck book to read to them, and we think they would have enjoyed this one.

If you know a child who likes picture books about cars, trucks, tractors, or other vehicles we think they will love a book about forktrucks.

We included a fact sheet about forktrucks in the back of the book. How many pounds can a forktruck lift? How high can they lift? These and other fun facts are included.

Click on the cover to go to Amazon and purchase.

Let us know how you like it.

Cold In My Nose - A Silly Poem

I have a cold. It's in my nose.
I wonder why that's where it goes.

I wouldn't want to live in there.
If I could fly most anywhere.

But cold germs like to live in snot,
And that's something I have a lot

Of based on how much I'm blowing,
Into my tissue. It's really flowing.

I sneeze, I cough, my nose is red.
My ears pop when I move my head.

I'm tired. I just sit and yawn.
Tomorrow I hope my cold is gone.

Our Work in Progress - Forktruck's Busy Day

We have been busy as a forktruck working on our latest picture book. So, there has been a lag on Silly Poems. We have a bunch of poems started so subscribe to our blog to make sure you know when they are published. Until then, check out Rhymes With Wiggle, Volume 2. It includes THREE original Silly Poems that have never before been published on our blog! The Amazon link for that is over there on the right.

Now though, we are busy illustrating our next picture book, Forktruck's Busy Day. We looked around and there are not many books about forktrucks for little ones. We know how much kids like to know about vehicles so we thought this would be a fun book. Life has a way of getting in the way sometimes, but we are hopeful that this will publish in Jan. or Feb. of this year.  The writing is complete. Here is a sample.

"This forklift truck works hard all day."
"Shipping freight out and putting stock away."

"Before starting he does a quick check,"
"To make sure he is safe, he must not wreck!"

The rest of the story follows Forktruck through all of the tasks he completes during his busy day.

We are a little under half way complete with the illustrations.  Here is a sample.

Let us know your comments. We are excited to see how this book is received since there are so few forktruck and warehouse books for the youngest readers.
